Introducing Marc G

21 year old Marc G is originally from outside Boston, but now works out of Plymouth, New Hampshire.

Although Marc G didn’t start recording until the age of 17, he has been writing music and lyrics since he was about 14. The main reason for his continuing in doing music is the element of performances. He describes that the energy of a large crowd is what really motivates him to keep on pursuing music. Seeing Logic perform live on his “Incredible World Tour” was a moment that impacted him for the rest of his life in regards to music.

Despite the fact that Marc G’s style and genre is something that is forever changing and developing, he considers his main type of music to be hip hop. Nonetheless, he has still had the chance to experiment with genres like reggae, indie folk, and pop rock. Being experienced in both rap and singing has been something that has made Marc G able to interlace his personal meaning in music with the current trends going on.

Recently Marc G released the track titled, “Elevate”. This is considered to be his top song. But prior to covid he had songs such as “Firefly 2”, and “Human Wonder 2” which would always get the crowd going.

Marc G will be releasing his debut conceptual album titled “Egoless” on April 30th, available on all major platforms. On his popular song “Elevate”, Marc G describes it as the experience he has had as an artist, arguing against himself and going through hardships. On his other track “Fames Misfortune”, it discusses the difficulties along with the danger and risk being in the music industry. Marc G puts his own thoughts and experiences in his songs, making him vulnerably creative. Along with this, he has a big presence on social media including Instagram and TikTok. Marc G’s main inspirations are artists such as Logic, 2Pac, Joyner Lucas, Eminem, Travis Scott, and Justin Vernon. These artists have taught him to be himself proudly, no matter what anyone else says or thinks.
